Our little artists in Mrs. Brua's first-grade class are spreading love and creativity this Valentine's Day! Today, we had a blast decorating adorable Valentine's Day bags, and cannot wait to begin filling them with heartfelt messages and sweet treats for our classmates. From glitter to stickers, every bag is bursting with love, joy, and kindness! Don't forget to bring your smiles tomorrow and spread kindness and cheer!

Becker/Stolp's multiage class is still working on their Genius Hour projects for their next Student Showcase. Today we took a look to check out how Amelya's greenhouse and squash are doing! We can't wait to see how much more they grow!

Mrs. Wilson's Third Grade class were little engineers and artists this morning at Makerspace! Makerspace is a great area for students to build, create, and explore a variety of materials while building on many different skills.

This afternoon, Miss Hart's Kindergartners got to enjoy the Library with Mrs. Gerlach! We love getting to spend time in the Library and hear some great stories. February is National Book Lovers Month, show your love for books and librarians and share your favorite book with someone!

Mrs. Fossum's Kindergarten class recited a Valentine's Day poem this morning. First, they read it as a poem, and then they sang it to the tune of Jack & Jill! What a fun way to start the day while getting ready to spread love and kindness with a sweet Valentine's poem!

Mrs. Elias's class of 5th graders was learning a very important lesson today in both life and math! Together, they reviewed some questions from yesterday's activity that had stumped many students. They worked together to figure out where they went wrong. While fixing our math problems, we also learned that it's okay to make mistakes and we can learn from them!

Check out what Mrs. Duffy's 5th graders are doing for math! They have been conceptually practicing volume. Today they furthered that understanding into procedural form (finding the area of the base and multiplying it by the height/layers). Students were also working on their computers practicing different mathematical skills to achieve mastery of volume, conversions, operations, and more!

Shoutout to Mrs. Brua's First-grade class for being the January attendance winners! They got to enjoy donuts this morning with Mrs. Kapfer. This week, 1B talked about sprinkling kindness with the world and they wanted to share kindness with Mrs. Kapfer. We love getting to see kindness sprinkled throughout GBR and beyond! Way to go 1B!
Be sure to spread lots of kindness February 14-20 for Random Acts of Kindness Week! What Random Acts of Kindness will you do?

Check out what is going on Friday, February 9,2024!

Math time in the multiage classroom consists of learners working through various skills in measurement. Learners work through folders at their own pace to prove their mastery of a given skill! Small groups are also working hard on proving their understanding! There's measuring, data, time, area/perimeter, and even volume ALL going on today!

Mrs. McManus' fourth graders had a blast in Makerspace this morning! There were lots of creative minds at work as students used different materials to build. From creating with popsicle sticks to building structures, the students in 4M were busy being engineers. Checkout the basketball hoop that two students created!

Let's talk money! Today, the second graders in Miss Bormann's class worked on counting money. Each student had to visit the 'bank' to exchange specific coins to reach the correct amount needed for a group under 42 cents and a group over 73 cents. For instance, if they required 10 pennies, they had to exchange them for a dime at the bank. What a fun, real-world activity to learn about money and value!

Exciting News! Mrs. Huber/Mrs. Sand's third-grade class is diving into a world of math exploration with Math Stations! From measurement to fractions, mass to volume, we're gearing up for an adventure in learning. Here's what we're up to:
Stations included comparing fractions, while another group worked on fraction facts on their computers. Another group used scales to compare the mass of items and worked on estimating and solving the mass of an item. A final group worked on Volume & Mass sheets, testing their knowledge and having them explore the world of math more! We love getting to see so many different ways to learn. Way to go, 3HS!

Mrs. Vogl's first graders are working on a 5-page narrative book! Each student is creating their own story, complete with a unique book cover. Today, students worked on making their covers and story pages, ensuring they add supporting details that will allow readers to visualize the story. Such a fun activity!
