Mrs. Vogl's First Grade class had an absolute blast diving into the world of 'less than' and 'greater than' in math today! In small groups, our budding mathematicians drew cards, eagerly comparing numbers and breaking them down by ones and tens using base ten. Their enthusiasm was contagious as they used tally marks to track each number's value. Once they determined which number was greater or less than, they joyfully constructed their number sentences! And to top it all off, they added a thrilling twist by spinning to see who would snag the coveted number cards, igniting one more round of greater and less than to determine the ultimate winner!
Diving into the cosmos together has been an exhilarating journey for 5E as we delved into the pages of "George's Secret Key to the Universe"! To culminate this cosmic adventure and celebrate our collective accomplishment, we embarked on a planetary exploration. Each student selected a planet and meticulously researched its mysteries. Armed with newfound knowledge, they crafted captivating PowerPoint presentations to dazzle the class with their planetary findings in our grand finale presentation. Let the cosmic discoveries commence!

KGL loves to read! This afternoon, our kindergartners immersed themselves in reading activities throughout the classroom. Some were engrossed in independent reading, comfortably seated in chairs or racecars, while others participated in reading groups or found cozy spots on their own. We're thrilled to see these little ones exploring their love for reading!
Mrs. Duffy's fifth-grade class enjoyed a fun math game today! Students were broken up into groups to form their teams. They would discuss as a team which category question they wanted and then solve it. After solving, Mrs. Duffy would ask the students to answer the question, providing other teams the opportunity to steal if the answer was incorrect. Once answers were submitted, they would then discuss how to solve the problem. In some cases, they talked about how there were different ways to solve the problem. They also touched on place value, the steps needed to solve the problem, and steps that teams may have missed, causing them to get incorrect answers. What a fun way to check students for understanding and mastery of all the math skills they have learned so far this school year!
This morning, Mrs. Dodd's Begindergarten class had a wonderful start to their day with a book about animals at the zoo that had a dance party! 🎉 After finishing their book, they had their own dance party and pretended to be animals we see at the zoo. From lions 🦁 and tigers 🐯 to zebras 🦓 and rhinos 🦏, this class is full of laughter and joy! After their dance break, they took a moment to sing a song together. To round out their performance, these BK kids took a big bow and received a round of applause! Thanks for sharing your wonderful dance moves and helping to spread smiles this morning!
