Shane Thill has been the director of Second Chance since its inception in 1993.

Motto:  Educating the mind without the heart is no education.


Education:

BS in History with minor in Geography in 1991 from South Dakota State University.
Masters in Educational Leadership in 2004 from the University of Sioux Falls.
Specialized courses in Student Behavior, Motivation, and Success as well as Classroom Management and Poverty.  


Member of the National Alternative Education Association and the National At-Risk Educational Network.

Lisa Neugebauer has been the Second Chance High School Language Arts instructor since 1996.


Lisa was selected as the Mitchell High School 2013, Teacher Of The Year and Mitchell District 2013 Co Teacher Of The Year.

Darrel Anderson has been teaching High School Math, and Computers at Second Chance High since 2004.


Darrel was the MHS Teacher of the Year for 2021-2022.

Pat has been with Second Chance High since 2013 and MHS since 2003.

BA (2002) in Mathematics with a minor in Physics from Dakota State University in Madison, SD.

Masters in Education with emphasis in Teaching and Leadership (2009) from SouthWest State University, Marshall, MN.

Endorsement in Driver's Education from Northern State University, Aberdeen, SD.

Pat was the Mitchell District and South Dakota 2012 Teacher Of The Year.

Emily VonEye is the Para Educator at Second Chance.
