Haddie in 2B's Flat Stanley has arrived and checked in from Thousand Oaks, CA. He has had some delicious coffee, went to the pool, got to see where they have the voting all set up, even went to a golf course. His friend Nancy even gave him his own golf cart to help get around.

In Library 2B, 2C, and 2S students are reading all about Stanley Lambchop. You may know him as "Flat Stanley" He was flattened by a bulletin board and now gets to go on many adventures. Our students have been mailed off to loved ones and are getting to go on some adventures themselves. As our flat friends check in we are filling in our US maps coloring the states that were visited. We are looking up the capitals, abbreviation, state flag and flower. We are also drawing the state flag and state flower. We have had check ins from 5 states so far.

Thanks to all the support during Mrs. Gerlach’s awesome Scholastic Book Fair we were able to purchase sets of Giant Polydrons. The inaugural challenge was for first graders - with a little help - to build something you could all fit in. Check it out! #GBR🏹

Our GBR Student Council representative (5th) joined representatives from the other elementary schools as well as Mitchell Middle and High School at Mayor Bob Everson’s office to celebrate American Education Week (AEW). The mayor read a proclamation about AEW and gave each representative a signed copy. What a fun way to celebrate as a district! #GBR🏹

Look at this happy face who received a book from our vending machine to add to his library at home. You can help us keep our machine filled with some great books by participating in our Read- a-Thon. Information came home 2 weeks ago. Students may start bringing in their reading logs and Pledge sheets with their pledges beginning on MONDAY. I have already received all the prizes I ordered so students will be able to get their prizes AS SOON AS they turn in their pledge money.
