• Reading Recovery is a highly effective short-term intervention of one-to-one tutoring for low-achieving first graders. The intervention is most effective when it is available to all students who need it and is used as a supplement to good classroom teaching. 
  The goal of Reading Recovery is to dramatically reduce the number of first-grade students who have extreme difficulty learning to read and write and to reduce the cost of these learners to educational systems. 

• SuccessMaker® offers standards-based reading/language arts, mathematics, and English language development/ESL curriculum. It also provides content learning, with science and social studies lessons incorporated into the math and reading curriculum. Delivered online, SuccessMaker uses adaptive software to match the instructional needs of each student. The program’s difficulty level adjusts automatically in response to the student’s answers, thereby providing a learning experience that is neither too easy nor too difficult. This level adjustment, along with assessment and reporting tools, helps teachers and parents address areas of weakness and recognize progress.

• GATE-Gifted and Talented Education is provided to student with high achieving students. Identified elementary students in grades third through fifth are eligible to participate in the GATE classroom which meets each week.

• Junior Achievement programs help prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs which make their communities more robust, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace. Students put these lessons into action, and help strengthen their communities. Community members and local business leaders come into the classroom to educate students on economic and business concepts.

• After-school Tutoring is to provide extra help for student in need, L.B. Williams provides a before and after school tutoring. The program is provided to students that have been referred by teachers and parents.

• STAR Ambassadors-STAR stands for Students Taking Active Roles and is a service learning group at LBW. The expectations specifically for students in star consist of being involved with team-building, building social skills, creating meaningful relationships with peers and adults, promoting LB Williams, experiencing hands-on/real life opportunities, empowering students to make positive choices, and increase leadership opportunities. These students may meet after school once a month and also two times throughout the month during lunch/recess time. 

• Buddy Mentoring is a program that matches K-3 students with 4th and 5th grade students.  After buddy mentoring training in the fall, the students will begin meeting each week to do activities together and build a relationship with one another in a mentoring/mentee role. These students do not meet after school but rather only during the school day. 

• Character Leadership Team-The goal of the Character Leadership team is to promote positive choices and character with LBW students. The Character Leadership team creates one school assembly a month about character. These assemblies include music, skits, and creative ideas performed in front of the LBW student body. This group typically meets only during the school day.   

• Student Council is for all 3rd-5th grade students who are elected each quarter throughout the year by their classmates. The goal of Student Council is to promote students being involved with giving back to the school and making decisions with student life at LBW. This group meets twice a month during the school day.
