Teachers from around the Mitchell region gather at Mitchell Middle School to ‘Boost-up!’

Teachers gather to engage the activity-based classroom

Summer was delayed just a bit for 40 Mitchell and regional teachers, as they gathered May 30, 31 and June 1 to learn the ins and outs of the activity-based classroom.  The professional development program, Boost-Up, was funded through a Carol White PEP grant secured by the Dial Consortium.  The training provided local teachers with research conclusions on the effects of movement and activity on student learning and worked through a myriad of lesson on how to integrate such activity into their classrooms next fall.

It is the policy of the Board of Education of the Mitchell School District that no otherwise qualified person will be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any district program or activity on the basis of race, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, national origin, or disability.
