Mission and Philosophy

 The Mitchell Middle School is "Building Dreams in the Middle" for students in grades 6, 7, and 8. We currently have about 575 students enrolled with school faculty of about 50 and a total staff of approximately 90 people.  

     We operate with a middle school philosophy utilizing teams of teachers working with students.  Within the teams, we teach language arts, mathematics, social sciences, and science. We also want students to venture into other areas: physical education, art, band, vocal music, general music, industrial technology, computers, family and consumer science, graphic arts,  Spanish, and journalism.  Students also have a  Student Responsibility Block (SRB) for approximately 45 minutes.  Our school day begins at 8:15 A.M. and ends at 3:15 P.M.. More
