- Schoolwide Title I Services
- PBIS – Longfellow has implemented Positive Behavioral Interventions
and Supports which was established by the US Department of Education
to give schools capacity-building information and technical assistance
for identifying, adapting, and sustaining effective school-wide disciplinary
practices
- Interactive School Library - Are you going crazy because your child
is bringing home the same Scooby-Doo, Junie B. Jones, or Captain Underpants
book everyday? – Carolyn Sivik, Longfellow Elementary School Librarian
- Summer Reading Program – Working in conjunction with the Longfellow
Library students will work to achieve summer reading goals and earn
rewards
- Summer School – Our summer program is a high academic program.
The students are assigned to a group by their grade level and rotate
with 60 minutes of reading instruction, 30 minutes of math and 30 minutes
of Success Maker in the computer lab. We meet for six weeks –
four days a week.
- Early Childhood Program – Program that works with children ages
3-5, to address developmental skills
- Breakfast and Lunch Program
- Houses Mitchell School District’s Summer Lunch Program
- Kids Club after school program – After school program that
provides supervision and activities for school aged children.
- Educational Field Trips – Students will take an education class
trip
- Math Counts
- Junior Achievement – Junior Achievement Worldwide is the world’s
largest organization dedicated to educating students about workforce
readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential,
hands-on programs
- GATE – Gifted And Talented Education
- Band – Longfellow offers 5th grade band for all students interested
- State Recognition for meeting AYP
- Student Council – Serves to engage students in learning about
democracy and leadership
