Welcome to LB Williams Elementary School, 1420 West University, Mitchell, SD! As you look around our website, you will get a sample of all the exciting educational experiences that happen for our students on a daily basis at LB Williams. Located on Dakota Wesleyan University's campus on the corner of Norway and University Avenue in Mitchell, SD,  we are home to 450 "star" students. With a variety of opportunities to meet each student's individual needs, we are hopeful that you will stop by to visit us in person. Packing Event

How are LBW students impacting lives? How are they Living Beyond our Walls?

LB Williams has joined with Imact Lives to pack 110 boxes in 2 hours.
Each box costs $54 and contains 216 meals.

Each meal costs $.25

When: Friday, April 26th, from 1:00-3:00 p.m.
Where: LBW Commons
What: Service Learning Project of Food Packing with Impact Lives
Who: 3rd, 4th, 5th grade students
Why: To provide a leadership opportunity for our "Leaders Blooming Within" to "Live Beyond our Walls" by packing food to give to people trapped in poverty throughout our world.

Can you help us?

Would you please support our students in their efforts to save lives? Our school's need is to raise $6,000, in conjunction with our community pack of $71,500, where on Saturday, April 27th, the remainder of the 286,000 meals will be packed. If you are able to donate, please place your money in an envelope titled "Impact Lives" and bring to the LBW Office. If writing a check, please make this to Impact Lives.

Seven Habits of Happy Kids

L.B. Williams wants to "plant to seeds" to make every child a leader in their life. We are teaching our students the following habits and infusing them into our everyday conversations and learning that will make them successful in everything they do:

Habit 1-- Be Proactive-Be the leader of your life.

Habit 2--Begin with the End in Mind-Start with a plan.

Habit 3-- Put First Things First-Do important things first.

Habit 4-- Think Win-Win-Find ways everyone can win.

Habit 5-- Seek First to Understand, then to Understood-Listen first, and then talk.

Habit 6-- Synergize-Work together to do better.

Habit 7-- Sharpen the Saw-Take care of yourself.

These habits are from Sean Covey's book The 7 Habits of Happy Kids.
