From The Principal
Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year; we are off to a fantastic start. It has been enjoyable getting to know our new begindergarten, kindergarten and transfer students as well as reconnecting with our students from last year. As you walk around the school, you will notice our G.B. Rogers Expectations posted on the walls throughout the building. We are teaching and modeling the three B’s throughout the day: Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Be Safe.
Gertie Belle Rogers Elementary School has been recognized by the South Dakota Department of Education as a Distinguished School for the seventh consecutive year. The South Department of Education identifies Distinguished Schools by using the following criteria based on the results of the DakotaStep test. Gertie Belle Rogers students exceeded the 80-% level on the SAT10/Dakota Step test, 89% of Gertie Belle Rogers students scored Advanced or Proficient in Reading and 92% of the students scored Advanced or Proficient in Math. For more information about the SAT10/DakotaStep you can go to the South Dakota State Report Card at https://nclb.ddncampus.net/nclb/index.html.
